Recently I got a Stillen front lip and rear wing. The painter has sprayed them several times, and the paint bubbles up in spots. He says he has cleaned them with everything he can think of and the paint will not adhere. This guy has had a body shop for years and I think he knows what he is doing.
I called Stillen and they said they have been making urethane products for years and have had no problems. They sent me a email containg some real basic instructions. I am not a painter but even I know to clean and scuff something before I paint it.
Has anybody had this problem with Stillen urethane parts?

Probably something to do with the paint job not being done right, heres a link with some info on it: http://learnautopainting.com/auto-paint ... blistering , look for blistering. Another thing could be waxing it right after. does it happen immidiatly?

I have not put the wing on the car yet,so its not been waxed.
Most cars now have urethane bumper covers,so in there daily collision repair these guys paint these kind of parts. Hope they can get it fixed.

Did you use a plastic/urethane primer? Look for it at auto part stores such as AutoZone.

All in the prep before the paint is applied. Local place here messed up my wife's the 1st time around. They failed to sand and smooth it out before paint. I believe the bumper has some kind of oil coating to protect it but will need to be taken off before paint (reason for bubbling). Another shop painted it for us and it turned out great :bigthumb:
