Trouble keeping the car running

So, I've searched and could not find anything similar to my problem. When I start the car it idles up to 1500 for a second then drops down and dies. If I give it a little bit of gas it will when it starts to drop down, it will level off at 900 and not die. Any idea why this was happening.

fuel pump?to a tune up,fuel filter, spark plugs, distributer rotor/cap.My bets are on the pump though

Oh wow dude my car is doing the same EXACT thing, and has left me stranded multiple times.. i have changed the spark plugs, fuel filter, ignition coil, messed with the distributor and everything, the only thing i have not changed is the fuel pump..idk what the deal is and nobody else does either..

You might want to clean your throttle body. Check your IAC valve and TPS.

have you checked your entire intake system? your throttle body could be all gunked up. but yeah, kinda sounds like a fuel issue. i would check the fuel pump.

unplug and plug back in your idler plug. mine randomly did this as my plug was getting burnt by the engine . quick fix for me. hope this helps you

My guess is fuel pump..

I was thinking it was the fuel pump, every now and then when I turn the key to the run position, the fuel pump sounds a little off.
