Trouble fitting single DIN and universal pocket with stock trim plate

I picked up the stock double DIN dash plate from nissanparts2u and the Metra universal fit dash pocket to use with my Pioneer single DIN stereo. The Pioneer fits fine but the pocket doesn't fit. No matter which of the included frames I use on the pocket it's too wide. Those of you that have done this, what did you do to get everything to fit properly?

post some pics, to give a better idea of what doesn't fit

maybe so dremel work will be required

Erick,

I would consider going to http://www.crutchfield.com and picking up a single DIN adapter from them. I had a similar issue trying to install a single DIN head unit in the stock location and ended up buying from Crutchfield instead. The kit I purchased worked perfectly and even provided me with some extra storage area for things like my "smokes", garage door opener, lighter, and head unit remote. Best of all, it only cost $20.
