I have a ripped Transmission Rubber Boot Cover that was leaking transmission fluid everywhere, so i bought a new one from frsports http://www.frsport.com/Genuine....html but i have no idea how to get that little opening on the boot over the giant shifter shaft. does anyone have any ideas... im sure its been done before.

Hey just wanted to post to say that you can get that transmission rubber boot cover at the dealership for $7 dollars..a lot cheaper then frsport.com

93' 240sx...well - KA24DE = SR20 their the same transmission rubber boot as

just picked mine up today...and i to had a problem getting it over that hole...

i ended up getting impatient and cutting the shifter with a cut off wheel and a saw saw til it got down to the rubber inside then i scraped the rubber off slid the new boot over and JB welded a new shift knob on..so its shorter then it was before...and now my transmission isn't leaking a ton of fluid

i looked at it for a couple hours and couldnt quite figure it out but good luck man let me know if u figure it out

I think when I did mine I took the shift lever out and put slid the boot on from the bottom up. It still has to go over the large round pivot ball, but it should be easier than sliding it from the top. You could also use a little bit of grease or transmisison fluid aswell to help it slide easier.

When I did mine all I had to do was lube up the shifter with dish soap and it slid right over it with a little effort, didn't tear the boot at all.
