It costs like 10 bucks to order one at Advance for a KA. Now I'm wondering if I can use Black RTV on the throttle body as a sealant in place of the gasket?

no one probly answerd this couse they dint want to take the time to explain this to you....but im down man..to the rescue!.....

the throttle body's main function is to meter air in a way..thats way the gasket is so precise..if you use RTV..then when you bolt things in place you will squeeze the rtv in to the inside of the throttle body restricting airflow in the idle passage....its allso good to think of air flow..specially if your NA (Natualy Aspirated)...its verry important to have a smooth flow for air to enter the combustion chamber ..if you add say rtv at the throttle body..it would couse the air to cavitate and slow down..this in turn would richen the air fuel ration cousing less power.....welp..hope this tidbit cleard that up..good luck man. :wavey:
