Greg and I took the kids to San Diego for a few days. We celebrated Saraya's birthday and got away from the heat. It was a very nice 71* (and less) the whole time we were there. I took a METRIC CRAP-TON of pictures, but I'm only gonna post the highlights here. The link to the photobucket album will be at the end. It was so huge, I broke it down into sub-albums. With over 1,000 pics, you kind of have to.

A miniature monkey. He was only a few inches tall.

She was very friendly, almost seemed to smile for the camera.
Image

She was NOT amused by our presence.
Image

My favorite of all the big cats. Not sure what that hunk of bone used to be but she was tearing it up.
Image

A fishing cat. She has webbed feet and swims through the water to catch fish and other pieces of prey.
Image

This little baby was antagonizing the whole herd. She was scolded more than once by the adults but didn't seem to care.
Image

I caught this one with her tongue sticking out

Camel implant fail :chuckle:

The aquarium was amazing

The beach at Oceanside. It was very windy and cool and somehow I STILL managed to get sunburnt. Saraya was in the water for over an hour, I am surprised she didn't catch hypothermia.

We stopped by to see Les at Classic Datsun Motorsports. Aaron had been working on the suspensions on this Z, it was immaculate.

Beautiful BRE roadster

Les's Racecar

Image

And the highlight of the ENTIRE trip. I saw this sign on the wall of the pen where they keep the domesticated dogs. How priceless is this?

Who wants me to make it his avatar? :rotfl

Anyway, here is the link to the rest of the pictures if you want to look through them. Enjoy!

Looks like a great time!

Cali always has nice weather. Nice change of pace from the ridiculous heat here.

Greg and I are making a concerted effort to get us and the kids out of the heat next summer as much as we can. The intense heat drains me so bad somedays I feel like I could sleep for 24 hours. It's aggravating.

Great pics! :dblthumb: San Diego is an awesome area. My wife and I spent a week vacationing there (before kids) years ago. I'd love to go back. There's so much to do and see.

Amazing pictures...
San Diego Zoo is definitely a place I check out when I go west.

What was the costs of the zoo experience? Any thing I should look out for?

Nala's avatar... Yes please!

It was $31 each, a little less for Saraya because she is still young enough to get a child's ticket. It was absolutely worth the cost. One of the most amazing zoos I have ever visited.
