I need to do some touch up on the rocker panels and mud flaps so I went to the Infiniti dealer body shop and they got me some body color (beige sand pearl - forget the code) but they show nothing for the trim. Trim code = A under the hood. Can't find this color anywhere. Help. It's like a bronze gunmetal metalic. Hard to describe. I had some bubbling on the rocker panels by the back of the rear doors and some of the paint on the mud flaps has been sand blasted off. Unfortunately this is my winter daily driver in Maine. Thanks.

Hmmm... might be worthwhile checking around at paint shops or detailers and see what they can do. You might be surprised what they'll do for $100, esp. if they're desperate for business.

Touch up paint almost never looks right..... and that's a tricky color to match.

Just noticed it's a 91. Buy a good quantity of the stuff that matches the major color of your car, NOT the grey crap color trim, mask everything off and take the car monocolor, all over the same color as the body. It's very easy and looks great. I Did it. Very good update to the car, looks like later models.

QShipTrooper...

Do you have a front tag holder? If so that's the easiest part to take off that's in the trim color. You can take it in to your local parts store and look for the best match. Had to try a few cans before I settled on the one that matches the best - but it's different for your car than mine.

Good luck!

I actually did buy a quart of the body color from the Infiniti dealer body shop for $25. I used a sprayer to do the inside lips of the wheel wells where there was some bubbling. You got me thinking on just painting the rockers and mud flaps body color. Hmmm. Anyone have pictures of what that would look like? It sure would be easier than masking stuff off. Just take the mud flaps off and paint them in the garage and the rockers would be a snap.

My digital cam is down or I would post pictures, but heck all you have to do is dig up a picture of a later car 94, 95 I know went to the all body color, no grey trim look, maybe even 93. Don't forget the body side molding, it is sooo easy to just mask that off with some good 3m masking tape and newspaper and shoot the moldings with a spray can in the body color. Perfect match from the company above.
