A nightmare....I think I may have over rinsed my motor when rinsing off degreaser formula. The can instructed to let the motor idle to dry off the rest of the wet areas but when i did the car would idle smooth but wouldnt rev past 2500 rpm and white smoke came out the exhaust. Now the car wont turn over at all. The OBD2 scanner shot codes for M.A.F. and I.A.T. sensors. Replaced both and it still wont turn. Then came a code for Crank Position Sensor. Cleaned and replaced those as well and she still wont kick. It churns strong but I don't like holding for more than 7 secs. I've replaced all six coils along with spark plugs, a fuel filter, and a new battery. NOTHING!!!! What other possibilities can it be? Scanner doesnt fire anymore error codes. Please help...shes been down 9 months!!!! Thanks in advance

Hmmm...

I'm at a loss...

Maybe some of the underhood electronics were damaged during the rinse process? Are your new coils/plugs firing?

coils seem to be fine...i pulled my new plugs and noticed front side driver most plug was fouled up black but that shouldnt hinder it from starting right?? could it possibly be injectors or fuel pump?

but arent there trouble codes for injectors and fuel pump?? also...did a little thread jumping and was enlightened by someone with a no start problem (actually hard start)...turns out it was due to bad grounds because of rust between engine and transmission...any idea as to how difficult that is to tackle??

I seen some of these cars have wire loom shorts from time to time. It seems to me that when you power wash your engine, you sent moisture to the loom causing you problem. I seen shorts in a couple of maximas that was found by a good dealer. Check the wires going to the parts in question.

update: cleaned the injector plugs with lectramotive and sprayed starter fluid into the throttle body and tried cranking again. it was so close to idling but just couldnt make it. can it be something fuel related?? i already changed the fuel filter. any suggestions?? SO CLOSE!!!!!!

btw plugged scanner and it fires p0110 (iat sensor). i fabricated a cold air intake and i placed the iat sensor in the intake piping. does it have to be placed at a certain distance away from the throttle body? im thinking maybe its the cause for fuel miscalculation??

just get the drop-in K&n filter. put back everything. if you want reliability oe set-up is the best specially if you are not inclined. your choice. i am happy w/ all my oe setup. just drop it and put nice rims and get a nicer sounding muffler ot catback setup.

would error code p0110 lead to a no start symptom? sometimes it'll fire the code and sometimes not. any ideas?

I don't know if this helps, but a few months ago I had a 91 Dodge Caravan and I always power washed my engine at the car wash, the van started up immediately and I drove it home and also made a stop before i got home. The following morning the van had no power like the battery was dead.I had my wife give me a jump and everything was good.I got to work 10 minutes later and van needed another jump.I left the van at work and checked on it again and the van would turn over but not start.Come to find I had soaked the fusible link.Had it replaced for about $140.00 with spark plug wire replaced also.Good Luck!
