I guess these 2 brands just arent compared. A local mechanic shop tht only carries cusco claims cusco is better than autopower

so basically this is a threead about cusco vs autopower

I know most autopower brands are scca and nasa approved

but where does cusco stand between this?

Please don't **** on my thread I know I'm a newb I'm just looking for people with experience with the 2 thanks.

also bolt on vs weld on

I hear bolt on is satisfactory and unless I want to go extreme a weld on isnt really neccisary.

ok i'm not going to hate on your thread because you said you "searched"

There are no companys that make a bolt in cage for a 240sx convertible. many people have said that it can be moddifed to fit but this has yet to have been posted/proven.

so you have two choices you can get a fabricator/cage build to build you one.

or

you can order a fr sports cage. it a weld in so you will need to have someone weld it in if you dn't have a welder.

Cusco is not legal for NASA or SCCA. If you want to find the exact reasons why, you can search on Google about them.

Also, neither autopower or cusco have cages that fit verts out of the box - modification is required (how much is not exactly known, but the autopower one you have to fix how the legs mount at the very least).

if you searched for roll bars in the vert section, you would have seen this:

S13 240sx Convertible Weld-in Roll Bar

As for bolt-on vs weld-on... bolt-on is fine, however weld-on is basically always preferred for track goers. Basically, it boils down to a personal decision, how much you value your life vs how much you want convenience of a daily driver, etc.

BASTARD! :P, good job, keep up the good work, hahaha.

And as a note on your post, there was ONE s13 vert where the guy reused autopower bar, redid the legs & I think a few other things, weld-in application - didn't provide enough height for most ppl, but I guess it worked for him. So they do fit, but it had to be shortened & cut & etc (basically not worth it unless you have a lot of time on your hands and don't want to get a kit that is made to fit already )

Thanks for wasting everyone's time by posting in the CONVERTIBLE FORUM.

If you have questions about the hatch/coupe, there are a lot of threads which cover autopower, cusco, etc - here & other forums. You need to search...
