My daughter got a 2009 Rogue last summer with 115,500 miles.
To help her get started, I wanted to change everything that was on the serpentine belt, so theoretically- she should not have issues with any of those for at least 5 years. I changed the Alternator, Water Pump, and Tensioner.
I also started to remove the idler pulley, but the bolt was long. When it got to removing the bolt, I could not get my finger between the pulley and the frame of the car.
Is there a trick to getting the last 1/2 inch of the bolt?
I thought about using a pry-bar to shift the engine a bit to make more space, but was afraid to damage something.
When I realized I could not remove the pulley, I just tightened it back and spun the pulley. No noise or anything, so I am fine for now.
But just in case in the future, is there any trick to removing the idler pulley?
