Where the bar attaches to the firewall is close to the cowl, so the fire wall is much stonger there than it would be lower away from any other support. How do I know? I ordered one of these bars and did a test fit on my s14. I ended up sending it back in exchange for one of their regular 2 point bars because of SCCA regulations. STS class prohibits any strut tower bar with more than two attachment points. This bar is one of the better ones I have seen anywhere. Its construction is simple and strong. Plus, its cheeper than a Cusco or a Nismo.
Whats this about the windshield being stiffer than the firewall? Try to bend a peice of glass.....it will crack. The windsheild is not a stressed member of the chassis so its totally irrelevant.
