My brothers QX4 was under a pine tree some time ago and now has sap all over the hood. It's been through several car washes and me with various cleaners, but nothing has worked.

Any ideas that are paint safe?

i used to work at a detailing shop and we would use tree sap remover, but we also used clay bar which is like 20$ for the whole kit and your car should come out looking like new.

90+% rubbing alcohol, a few Q-tips and a sponge socked with water.

Don't know if the rubbing alcohol will damage the paint but at least I use it all the time on my QX4 black paint and don't see any problems. I also wax mine all the time so maybe the wax is protecting the hard clear finish.

Just soak the Q-tip with alcohol and rub off the sap. then use sponge to wipe off the residues. One note: 71% rubbing alcohol you get from local supermarket has too much water and won't work as well. You really need something greater than 90%
