is there anyone here using the new treadstone kit on stock internals while running almost 10psi?

im very familiar with boosting Spec V's and on a Spec V the treadstone kit is a great kit for the price and you can run around 9-10 psi with it however you will want to have meth injection. on a Spec you can run basically up to 8 psi with simply proper tuning and 440cc wrx fuel injectors but once you go over 8 you will need a return fuel setup with a bigger fuel pump and will want to run meth injection. around 12psi and above you will want a thicker head gasket and blockgaurd. Honestly for a daily driver 6-8 psi is fine.

I am looking to put a Turbo on my Spec(2006 with 17K miles). How much extra money would I have to spend on top of the turbo kit to make the engine run for about 100K miles? I am looking to run 4-6 psi.

At that low of boost, you don't need anything too significant.

Fuel pump, fuel pressure regulator, injectors, engine management (SAFCII will do fine), and probably a clutch, though I bet the stock one will hold on for a little while at 4psi.

for 6-8 psi all you need is bigger injectors (which i believe the kit comes with) your best bet is to buy the complete kit and the only extra thing you will need is a wideband fuel sensor so you can tune the engine. You will NOT need a bigger fuel or a return fuel system for 6-8 psi as long as you have 440cc injectors. I just sold my kit for 3k and it had everything plus alot more....

I'm pretty sure you meant wideband oxygen sensor.

I'm surprised there's no need for a higher capacity fuel pump or pressure regulator, but it is a fairly low boost level, so it makes sense.

yea oxygen sensor to monitor the fuel ratio. yea its not going to hurt to have the return setup and bigger pump but it really is not completely necessary.

i personally will put a return fuel line cause i've seen what it does on the dyno when cars dont have one and they peak out their fuel. i'd rather just do it all right at one time. just my preference.

theres plenty ppl making 320ish whp on a non return system, stock block etc. your tuning will need to be spot on, and i would suggest haviing your base timing retarded 2*. [edited by mod - Suggesting other forums is a no-no. We've got plenty of expertise here, thanks.]
