Hey whats up guys, I have a question for you. A guy in my neighborhood is selling his 1976 S30 for $800. I've passed by his house and checked it out and it looks to be in good condition, minimal rust here and there. The only problem is it has no engine or transmission. My question is, can I take some of the parts from my S13 and fit them onto the S30. My main concern is the engine, my S13's engine and transmission are from a 1998 S14 with only 80K miles. Can I swap my KA into the S30? I don't mind fabricating motor mounts, but am I going to have to cut/weld anything?. I suck at welding. I don't care that my KA only has 155HP, I'm not trying to build a track machine, just a reliable daily driver just like my S13 is. Would anything else fit, such as struts/springs, wheels, maybe my seat rails(I have S14 seats). Sorry if this is such a newbish question, I tried searching and couldn't find a straight answer.

some people put sr20s in z's but it changes alot... you gotta fab alot to compensate for the size difference the l series are huge... i have a set of seats off my z i parted i can see if they fit in a s13...

i know you can have s13 suspension to an extent ( custom coils from the brackets for the fronts; but honestly it be cheaper to buy stuff for the s30 theres alot of support for it

idk if you can afford to fix it up it would be sweet; just triple check for rust its a z killer

gl and let us know how you make out (oo toyota 4x4 brakes are the most common upgrade and are pretty cheap)

how would you fabricate engine mounts without welding? you gonna machine them form a block of billit?

sorry I just thought that was funny

yes the ka can be swapped, it's been done, I wouldn't waste my time with it, the L6 is a wonderful motor

and no nothgin itnerchanges, the S13 wheels are the wrogn offset, the front struts have been swapped but it requires custom fab work, precision welding and cabler plates to allow for the radically different stub axle angle

the entier IRS form the S13 has been swapped in but it's a good bit of fab work

the s13 trans cam be bolted to the L6 after some minor modifications and a custome driveshaft and trans mount

I gotta say $800 for a rusty car with no drivetrain, sounds lieka ripoff, maybe for a solid rustfree chassis, or a rusty car with a good drivetrain and suspension

if you want an easy engine swap just frop a SBC in

I was more looking forward to keeping it cheap, since I already have a lot of good parts on my S13. If it's gonna take lots of fab work, it doesn't look like it'll be a cheap job.

Thanks for the help.

for an old car though, z's parts are relatively cheap.... probably since so many are parted due to rust
