Okay, I don't own a 300ZX, but I have almost the same front setup as you 84-86 folks do, so please answer my question and don't move this to the suspension wheels and brakes forum!

Okay, how the hell do you get these technologically backward pieces of crap off the strut? I can't see anything obvious save MAYBE removing the whole wheel bearing and fighting the whole way. Am I going to have to remove the seals and repack this thing AGAIN? I just did this like 2 weeks ago, and I am really not in the mood to do it again.

Please help, thanks you!

yup, not a big deal, you pull the grease cap, cotterpin, nut and outer bearing, the inner and grease seal stay in the hub when you pull it off, then it's just 4 or 5 bolts holding the rotor to the back of the hub, it's the same from 70-85, then the went to slip on rotors

Alright, thank you.

What sort of tools or supplies am I going to need that may be out of the ordinary besides the huge socket for the hub-nut?

teh hub nut is retained by the cotter pin and castlenut, it's only a little more than finger tight and be sure the wheel spins freely when you put it back otgether or you'll destroy your bearings, a pair of slip joint pliers will do the trick nicely, otherwise just a 14mm socket, an impact makes the work a lot quicker and easier, if not you'll want to wedge a bar across the lugs to gaid the leverage needed to bust the bolts loose, and the bolts holding the calliper bracket are 14mm as well on most, might be 17mm on some? just wire the calliper assy out of the way to keep from cracking the aged reber brake hose

I did the hoses about 5 months ago, so they aren't a problem anymore.

What size is the hub nut on the Z? I suppose it should be the similar for both the S12 SE and the Z.

I don't have a FWD. Its a RWD S12 200SX dude.

According to other sources it is only supposed to be on with 25 ft/lbs of torque...

yean I know, why I said "noting like FWD" I've never used a torque wrench on this type of hub nut, it's all about free play, if the wheels won't turn freely you got it too tight and will destroy uour bearings
