jus got back form infinity service center, i was there trying to get my transmision flushed. well i told the guy what i needed, he took a look a at the history report and said well the transmision has being flushed one time at 97,000the car is currently 125,000 since the original owner never serviced it frequently, it would be best not to flush it again. He told me he would gladly flush if i wanted but i will run into problems.

The irony in all of this is, i was at the same service center about three three weeks ago there was a 30 or 90 point inpection , among other things consultant told me he would reconmend a transmisionflush asap.

Can anyone make sense in any of this??????

If the transmission hasn't been flushed regularly it's not a good idea to start when there are high miles on it.

There is general disagreement in this area due to the different methods used in the so called flush. Due to the age of your fluid and transmission, have them hot flush it using BG cleaner or equivalent (row thru gears) and 14 quarts of regular ATF, change the filter screen, then have them repeat the flush with 14 quarts of ATF. This should get rid of any deposits and varnish. You might also use Mobile-1 and add a bottle of lubeguard red at the end for added protection.

I just flushed mine with regular DEXRON III nad replaced teh strainer and gasket. My car had no previous history of transmission fluid cjhanges and so far so good. My fluid looked relatively clean when I changed it and I found only the slightest little bit of metal shavings in the pan. The only thing I find is that when I accelerate and the transmission shifts at real high RPMs, I find that it hesitates to go in gear. I'm not sure what is causing that yet.

Mechanically exchange the ATF, replace filter, wipe pan every 25K, at least.

Why give up now?

if your transmission was flushed at 97,000 and now has 125,000- time to repeat-no danger as it was just done 28,000 miles ago. some say if you get to 100,000 without any flush, then doing a flush may cause problems{doubtful} but in your case, this doesnt apply.change filter if it has never been done also.

Examine the ATF. Does it look okay? Perhaps a little brown? As long as it hasn't turned into Mississippi River water, flush it again and change the filter.

thanks for all the feedback, im not sure what im gona do yet. right now the car is at pep boys, im having them change the plugs. Speaking of Plugs why is that infinity charge $450 to to remove plugs, i called other majorauot mechanics they charge two three hundred less. Tranmision flush was only a difference of $50 which is feasible but 200 bucks, anyone know if they do anything differently.
