A great resource for Nissan Sentra, Infiniti G20, 200sx, Pulsar, NX1600, NX2000, Tsuru, Primera and Sunny owners.

Tried this in KA forum, and didn't get a response. Anyone know if this is possible?

It is possible, with alot of fabrications, but what would be the benefit?

Torque... unique, just a brain storm really. Been driving around a 2000 Altima and its just so smooth. And this would have been done in place of the GA most likely, using mounts and such from an SE-R, I doubt I'd dump the SR in favor of a KA. BTW, love your setup, very clean. The KA does look a bit large for the Sentra and is probably a bit to heavy. Thanks for the response.

Well in all reality, the blue bird motor that I have in my car actually comes out of the Nissan Bluebird SSS ATTESSA, which is similar to the u13 altima in the states. But it takes some fabrication as well to get the sr20det to work in the us altima. It also seems that room would be limited for a ka to sr swap though. It would be different, but when it all comes down to it, I think the sr would still be the better motor, pound for pound.

Glad you like the setup.

I think he's implying that a KA would be no bigger than an SR that's been stroked.

The problem is that a KA has a larger everything, changing the displacement of the SR doesn't change it's outward physical dimensions at all, it just makes it bigger inside.

Now, if he's asking "why would anyone ever bore out the SR" it's for torque, especially on heavy-duty all-motor setups with S5s or bigger cams and such, which shift power higher and higher into the RPM range. The SR has most of it's power gains at 3-5k, and pulls strong to redline. With monster cams you'd want to balance out the engine's newfound top end with some bottom end to get you there, especially if you're into drag or tight roadcourses, etc.

If you followed the link, the question is why would you use the bigger heavier and larger KA when you can get similar displacement from a stroked and bored over SR? That and the SR would still be suitable for a nice turbo system.
