I will soon be picking up an engine in maryland and diving back to new york with it (4-5 hours). The only transportation I have is my 91 FB. I know I will be able to fit the engine inside with some dissassembly.

Has anyone done this before? Any suggestions? A friend of mine thinks I should take out my passenger seat and put the engine there. Is it bad to drive that far with 350-400 lbs on one side of the car? Is it better to have it centered over the rear? Or is this much weight not even a problem?

HAHAHAHAHAHA, you should have made her pay for it. Did you at least tell her that she was so fat she blew your strut? That is too funny.

Don't worry about the engine being there for a 4 hour trip, nothing bad will happen. Either there or the trunk, won't really make a difference. Why are you going all the way to MD for an engine? Is it free?

The engine should fit in your trunk with no problem. I remember a picture a friend of mine showed me once. He had an SR20 in the back of his NX. It was funny at the time, because I believe it went to a thread about how true Sentra enthusiasts pick up their spare SR with another SR :)

But anyway, if an SR fits in the back hatch of an NX, I would think a KA would fit in the back hatch of a 240sx.
