Im thinking about doing a transmition swap from an auto to a manual on my 2005 altima 2.5s. Any tips on doing this, places to look for transmitions, and will it be really expensive??

Not sure what you have done to your car but id say its not worth it. Get a 2011 with a six speed. Minimum 5k for the swap.

1. Learn how to spell transmission.
2. Save up 4500 dollars. (This is a bit over kill, however, if you run into problems you have backup funds).
3. Find the following:

a. a donor car or all the manual trans gear which involves the following:

1. Manual transmission.
2. Clutch and brake pedals.
3. Shifter and shifter linkage and/or cables.
4. Mounts of the transmission mounts are different.
5. A new clutch, you'll want to replace this while it's apart.

That covers the basics.

You will need to cut holes etc for the clutch and brake pedals and mount them accordingly.

Laborr alone will be a killer if you're not doing it yourself.

Honestly, it'd be cheaper to buy a MTX 2005 Altima.

Awesome thanks for the advice. I am seriously considering just getting a car that i can work on and keep the Altima for my daily driver.
