Transmition fluid draining?

Information on the naturally-aspirated KA24E and KA24DE engines.

Where is the plug to drain and filter located for the Automatic transmition fluid on the KA24de. My car is comming out of the garage next from the winter and thats something I need to do. Can anyone help me?

I've never worked on the auto 240's before but most automatics do not have a drain plug, you have to remove the whole pan in order to replace the fluid. It is easy but if you arent carefull can be messy.

Once the pan is removed and things have dripped dry you can pull the filter out (it should be readily visable) and then use break-cleaner to get the gunk off the valvebody and visable parts. Once this is done be sure to clean the pan and install the new filter, install the pan then fill the transmission. Start the car, apply the brakes and slowely shift from each positions PRND21 then add fluid accordingly (fluid level should be read while the engine is running to assure an accurate reading).
