secret no one tells you, buy a shell with blown motor = 300-500$ all parts plus body panels an other goodies you can part out to almost if not make all your money back.... i bought a Non running Ca18det for 1000$ got the whole car. now parting out the shell my price break down was as follows as i see it i spent the following for each nod bad i think 500$ motor 300$ transmission/swap parts 200$ exhaust system

now ill sell off 275$ front end : fenders,hood,bumper 100-275$ power doors 50-100$ dash board 50-200$ brakes 100-300 Ka24e 100-200 transmission (Auto) 100$ rear windows 50$ hatch

ill end up fairly squared away and ill have a Boosted 180sx to show for it

the shell idea is a good one and would be the easiest. only problems with it would be payin to get it towed but most of all finding one. the majority of the transmission parts needed for the swap will work from the s13, but the driveshaft from the s14 will be needed and maybe the transmission mount the hydraulic line im not sure about but should be close enough and the most important part of the swap the interior shifter trim plate with the boot of course

yeah towing is alittle costy... less you got a hook up i had mine flat bed towed 120-150 miles for free.. grandfather called in a favor from a guy he knew owned a tow co.

although if you have a truck a Uhaul trailor is 50$ plus gas to get there and back... total around like 150 $ if its far

you dont have to get a manual ecu, all you have to do is cut out a part of your automatic ecu; i was think about doing that to my 240 but i dont have the money right now.(i will eventually put a 5spd in)
