I recently completed my sr swap(s13black top->s13 hatch) the problem is this, when I am in gear, and step on the throttle the car goes like a mofo till about 3500 rpm then it seems like its in neutral. Almost like the clutch is slipping. If I feather the gas it seems to go away, what would cause this? I am running the stock clutch. Antother thing is it seems like my bov opens way before I let of the throttle. It sounds like it is blowing off even when I am still on the gas. I am running a PROF BOV. I know these two questions are not really related but why make 2 posts!! any help would be great!!

it actually sounds just like you said, your clutch is slipping. Did you put in a new stock clutch or are you running on the one that came with it?

3500 is right about where you will start making lots of TQ in the SR, mine did the same thing on the stock clutch. An ACT unsprung 6-puck will solve that problem right up for ya :D

you can use an OEM maxima clutch from early 90s maximas. Its like $115 or so for a clutch kit with throwout bearing, clutch, and pressure plate.

yeah do what JJ240 said

OR is you want to spend a total of about $200 you could do like me and get a stock early-90's maxima pressure plate, an act unsprung 6-puck, and a throw out bearing and have a super grippy clutch with EASY engagement...

OK Im thinking that maybe my clutch isnt shot. I think it just needs some major adjustment. it dosent engage untill the pedal is all the way out. how would I go about adjusting the clutch

You want the clutch to engage at the top of its throw. If it engages lower it means you need to bleed your line or replace your slave cylinder.

I like the clutch to engage right in the middle. There is thread on the rod that hooks to the clutch pedal. You can adjust there. It sounds like you may have a big boost leak. That would kill the power when the boost got high and would sound like a leaky BOV

well you should pull between 16 and 22 mm/hg at idle. Anything less than that and you probably have a leak

Vacuum at idle will not show a boost leak in the intercooler piping. You have to follow the high pressure path from the turbo to the throttle body. If that's all tight and sealed then you should be OK. Sometimes something can be leaking that is very difficult to see. revv the motor a bit with the throttle body by hand and feel for air along the intercooler piping.
