Hey all,

I noticed my forest air doesnt work all the time now, it was working when I first picked up the car no issues at all, I went to change the air filter, and found out there was no air filter in the cabin, I had one installed, now I cant turn on the forest air?

Also I have been reading on these forums about a transmission update and ecu relearn, what should I do? My car is a bit laggish and jump.

Trani update is ITB12-021. You can ask your dealership about it. I was charged for a suspension update in my old volvo V70R, so you dealership might want some $$$ to load it... I don't have any experience w/ the infiniti dealerships though.

The one I posted was for the 37's I think. I'm not sure if they use the same trani in both...

No they are different, and also it depends if your car is AWD or RWD. The M37 tranny's are actually more expensive.

I just had my oil changed right before Thanksgiving and asked about the transmission update. The dealer told me it would be $120 if there was one out there for the M56S.

There was one for my 2011 M56S RWD. Very noticeable difference in my car. ECU and TCU both are updated per the service bulletin.

Is a service bulletin same as a recall? Is that free to do?

Service bulletins are not free unless you are under factory warranty. You pay labor for the update or correction. It is simply information regarding fix's for various well known problems.

Is there any way to do the updates without a dealer? Reason I ask is that i don't live in the US however do own a 2010 Fuga (Y51) 3.7 model... Don't really have a dealer to go to here so would be interested in knowing what it would take to be able to perform the update

You'd need a CONSULT device...and that would just be the beginning. You'd also need the update itself which I can pretty much guarantee you Infiniti would never give you.
