Alright today i was driving and i park the car and turned it off and lifted the e-brake, i go and lift my foot of the break and the car slides forward. I look and i had left it in Drive, anyone know why the car let me turn it off while it was still in drive?

you can turn the car off in any gear position, the only thing different is starting you can only start in neutral or park in an automatic.

But isn't the shift lock not supposed to let me slide it in into park with its off and left in gear, thats what i feel is wierd
