I am a newbie to this forum, and to the 240sx in general. I just got my '92 a couple of weeks ago with a bad clutch, and I've run into some trouble with the transmission removal. I've gotten all the bolts of except the one that is on the top of the transmission. I can't figure out how to get it out. Thanks for your help.

Righty tighty, lefty loosy :) Just kidding. The best way to get it out is with an extension and a flex socket. the extension will need to be about 2 or 3 feet long.

That's a huge extension. Thanks for the help, I'll go get a long extension and try that.

It will tilt the engine away from the firewall so you have more room to get to the the 3 bolts at the top of the transmission and the starter bolts on the auto you are pulling out. Or you could do it the hard way and use 5 feet of extentions and universal knuckels. Nick
This was something I answered on removing the an autotranny and needing more room, the same goes for the manual transmission. Nick

Like I said previously, just use a long extension and a flex socket and you'll be good to go(you will use a total of 3 things: 14mm flex socket, extension, and ratchet).

As far as jacking the transmission up, I would assume that he is talking about using a wrench which would really suck.

I just used a 1/2 inch drive socket, extension, and rathet to remove the two top ones on the Z32 I'm working on now.

yeah, I just got it out, thanks for the help. It took some manuvering and some flex pieces and extensions, but it is possible.
