Transmission Tolerances?

CAN SOMEONE GIVE ME A STRAIGHT ANSWER ON HOW MUCH TORQUE/HP THE RB25 AND THE RB20 TRANNIES CAN WITHSTAND?

I NEED TO KNOW FOR MY PROJECT ENGINE.

SHOULD I BUY A RB25 transmission FOR 600+ HP OR SHOULD I TAKE MY RB20 transmission TO A RACING TRANSMISSION BUILDER AND HAVE HIM BUILD IT UP TO MEET HP REQUIREMENTS? THE CAR IS GOING TO BE FOR ROAD RACING NOT DRAGGING.

about gear boxes for skylines

ok from what i know the rb20 gts and gtst manual boxes are the same and the vl/ r31 aussie skyline 3.0 l is similar only difference being the ratio's I know cause i have seen all fitted. power rating on the boxes is around 350 400 hp max at the fly wheel. vl rb 20 e motor trans I have no idea about vlt box is good for 600 hp some say 800 hp and the rb25 is similar to to vlt box. auto to manual swaps in r32's need different tail shaft and crossmember different lenghts. for the bigger boxes rb25 /vlt I think you need different slave cylinders etc..clutches are push type for all execpt for r33/34 gtr and r34 gtt which are pull type . the internals of the rb25/vlt box share similar components to gtr and z32 boxes and all have similar strenght. r32gtst box and the r33 gtst boxes are different in size ,weigh and strength

SO THE RB25 IS THE QUICK FIX.

if you can call it that, you need a new driveshaft with it not to mention its gonna sit hella funny in your transmission tunnel because its longer than the rb20 transmission.

WELL I AM DOING A CUSTOM DS ANY WAY. I'LL PROBABLY BUILD UP WHAT I HAVE. DOES ANYONE KNOW IF THE RB20 CROSS REFERENCES WITH 300ZX transmission PARTS OR 240SX PARTS? I KNOW THE KA24DE transmission SUPPOSEDLY BOLTS UP TO THE RBS.

the internals are supposedly the same, it dosent bolt up, diffrent bell housing.

but no proof to verify that the internals cross refrence. i KNOW the bellhousings are diffrent.

YOU TRIED? I TRIED THE KA24E transmission AND THE MOUNTING DOWLS ARE OFF SLIGHTLY BUT THE MOUNTING HOLES ARE CORRECT.
