transmission to drive shaft question

Ok I just reciently got my SR20DET Red top delivered.I have a few issues tho.The retractable shaft that connects the transmission to the drive shaft has been cut or ground off.My question is: will the one from my 91 240 transmission work if I just slide it in where the sr shaft came out of?

Yes it will. Unbolt that piece from the KA24DE trans and driveshaft. Remove the large hard rubber seal\boot around the SR20DET transmission (You can just hammer it off) and then remove the thin metal dust seal off your KA. It may not seem like there is one but you should see the seem around the end of the KA transmission. Remove this carefully or you'll have to take a little time to reshape it. Dont ask. Heh
