Im not sure what your asking with the transmission, but a sequential shifter converts the H pattern shifting to a simple up and down only pattern. http://www.ikeya-f.co.jp/english/

To expand on what J-Spec said, a sequential gearbox moves through the gears sequentially (duh). You can't go from 2nd to 4th like you could in a standard manual transmission. F1 cars and WRC rally cars for the most part use sequential paddle shift gear boxes. I seem to recall Nicky Grist pointing at a Subie gear box and saying that it cost some crazy, obscene amount of money.

As for Heavy Throttle, are you asking if they're a good source for engines?

yeap... now I understand what that is...:)it should be faster than normal trans...I wanna see it someday...

-I just saw j-spec's sig.. also I heard lot of good rep of heavy throttle... :)

Wow, I'm really confused. Sequential transmissions shift faster than your typical one, yes, this is because there is no clutch work or long, diagonal throws, all the throws are straight forward or back. Anyway, Heavy Throttle is one of several reliable choices for engines out there. I can't think of the name right now, but I believe (if you are in the market for a swap, though with an RSX that doesn't make much sense to me) there is a place in New York. Of course, there's Afterdark, owned by one of our mods, but I haven't seen anything about his business lately, what's up with Daunttless lately, is he still recovering from that kidney stone a while back?

Mitsu's new WRC prepped Evo isn't gonna be sequential.

Reason the new WRC Evo itsn't gonna be sequential? Because there is no new WRC EVO! I read in GRM that Mitsu announced that they are withdrawing from all motorsports competition in 2004. Apparentley they need to "focus on growing it's brand and build retail stores." Pfft....

Hope this isn't true.

From what I understand, they pulled from SCCA Rallying to tackle WRC. The new SCC has photos of the new WRC car,

Dauntless = went broke and skipped town, hasnt posted on nico for like 5 months now.

Sequential shifters, has nothing to do with the clutch, only the shifting motion. There are hydraulic sequential shifters that do the clutch work for you, but it isnt a nessecity for sequential shifters.

Ok, I see. It was listed under the "SCCA Scene" in the magazine. Still, it did say "all motorsports competition in 2004. Mitsubushi Motors cited as the reason is the need to focus its resources on continuing to grow it's brand and build retail stores."

Seems if they really wanna focus they would throw the WRC out as well as SCCA events. But what do I know? (don't answer that question - it was hypothetical)

WRC is a much higher profile endeavor in the world market than SCCA. I'd imagine that a good showing in the WRC would make for some excellent advertising and a bit of a "halo effect" in countries that actually follow Rally.

As for the new car, even though it has a plain old 5 speed gearbox right now along with passive differentials, I'm sure that will change once the bugs are worked out of the rest of the car. I bet the car will have active differentials and a sequential semi-automatic gearbox like all the rest of the WRC cars before the season is over.

So did Dauntless rip anyone off? I was curious during his last few posts, he seemed kinda sketchy. I almost bought an engine from him too.

He didnt really steal any money (im pretty sure), he just left 2 or 3 cars unfinished. Pretty much everyone got either a refund, their motor, their parts and/or install (or any combo of the previous). He went broke and closed shop. He just threw away alot of money with poor decisions and had to close because of it.

I ordered a motor from him and got a full refund, so im not complaining (except for the wasted 6 months of being led on).
