I am surrently driving an automatic 1996 nissan maxima. I am thinking about changing it to a manual. I was wondering what price range I should expect and if I should get any specific parts from specific companies and stuff like that.

The write up that kazuya_maxima posted is pretty much the bible for doing a auto to 5spd swap. You should find a 5spd maxima or I30 and get as many of the components off that car that you can. A good place to look is http://www.car-parts.com. You should plan on spending around $2000 on parts and essentials.
