transmission swap

I searched and I didnt find any topic on this.

I have an 02 Maxima (auto) and I wanted to know if anyone has tried the 5spd auto swap with the 04 maxima or the 05 altima. Because all i've seen so far is the swap to 5spd MT or 6spd MT.

if there are any links that you know of that could help me. i thank you.

i wanna know what type of fitment problems there are or even so if it will work or not

Hmmm...

I've got a feeling you'd run into computer issues between the 5-speed TCU and the 5th gen ECU. In all honesty, though, I'm not sure.

I think this is the first time I've heard of anyone wanting to swap to a different auto rather than the manual. I can understand, though--the 5 speed auto is a much better trans than the 4 speed (not that the 4 is inherently bad; it's just old).

what about the 4th gen ?

can I use 6spd M/T from altima on it ?
