as long as you properly centered the clutch you are fine, its just hard as hell to get the trans in there... you can try jacking the front of the motor up a bit to get it angled a little better to get it in, but other than that its just a big pain in the ***.

I tilted the back of the engine down a little bit and turned the transmission upside down. Yeah, it sounds wierd but it works. Slide the shaft into the clutch/pilot bushing while the transmission is upside down, then turn it right back up and slide it the rest of the way in.

Are u sure u have all the parts cause I just did the same thing and I forgot to put in the relief sleeve and holding spring???? They are factory parts and can not be remanufactured and u can only get them straight from the dealer or the junkyard...........If u have that the try what they said because what I did was put in both parts and then your fork and bearing and had to twist the trany and someone had to stand on the motor...........Make sure u have all your parts..........Any questions ask
