So i have a 1993 240sx hatch. All gears but 1st and second have gone out in the automatic transmission. i was contemplating on selling the whole car as is, but i wanted to know how much it would cost for a used or rebuilt transmission manual preferably and the cost to install???

You can get a KA manual transmission for anywhere between $50 and $400. For rebuilt I don't know. The clutch assembly is normally easy to find in a U-pull-it, hopefully you can find the line from the clutch master to clutch slave cylinder.I would recommend a new clutch master and slave. The last parts you would need are the clutch and flywheel. your choice of stock or performance.People have done the swap for pennies on the dollar in 1 night. Others spend a small fortune on having a shop do it. Just search around here on NICO for a write-up on it, there's lots of them.Manual is worth every penny in a 240 IMO.

A normal mechanic will probably charge you out the A$$ for labor. (500-1000)

Do you recommend buying a rebuilt or used transmission?

fyi ill install a 5 speed swap into your 240 for 650 including everything but clutch. thats 400 for the whole 5 speed swap and 250 for labor. i can install a used clutch for no extra charge but id suggest a new one for piece of mind but hell im using a used clutch on my built ka running nitrous.

^That's a great price if you don't want to do it your self.New clutch is worth it.The whole swap will raise the value of the car because manual 240's are more desirable. IMO
