First of all i did search already but wasn't able to find a clear answer, so i thought i'd start a new thread. I'm trying to identify the different transmission sensors. obviously, i've identified the speed sensor already, but i'm not sure on the others. i think there's only 3 other sensors besides the speed sensor, but correct me if i'm wrong since i don't have teh transmission handy to look at. this is the best pic i could findif someone could help me, it'd be greatly appreciated

edit- the one circled in yellow might not be a plug, but it's hard to see. so theres either 3 or 4 besides the speed sensor

yellow: reverse (pic not the same location as the KA housing though)blue: 4thgreen: 5thred: neutral

Keep in mind that the s14 bellhousing does not have the 4th position switch (blue in my description), so there may be a good chance blue is actually reverse. Here is a pic of the s13 bellhousing- please excuse the filth:

Hope this helps

I have been wondering some of these same questions and I too have searched and have seen some conflicting info on here. So thanks for the great diagram. Tons of help!!

Know for the thread Jack

I Have a question on the same topic so I might as well add it in here. My sensors all still work but a couple are leaking. (Nuetral swith and Reverse sensor) They are not leaking around the threads but out of the sensor itself. What is the best way to fix this or do I just need to replace them? Not trying to be stingy just a little low on the funds. Any help would be great and thanks in advance.

no idea if you can really stop them from leaking, i do however have extras of all the sensors. hit me up if your interested.

now that i confirmed what the reverse sensor is, i can trim the other sensors out of the lower trans harness

I will brobably get the backup switch new because I think it is only like $25 bucks but when I look again and find out what the other sensor is I will let you know and have you shoot me a price. Thanks

thats, i'll sell any of the sensors you need $10 plus shipping (shipping is probably like $2) and all the sensors i know for a fact were working since i used that trans up until i parked the car in September

The yellow circle in your pic is definitely not the reverse sensor. There should be another sensor in the vicinity of the blue circle, but it cannot be seen in the angle your pic shows.

sorry i should have clarified, i mentioned in my first post that the yellow circle might not be a sensor at all, since it was hard to tell from the pic i took. the blue circled plug, or closest to the engine, is the reverse sensor

Yeah I think the yellow is a bolt for the slave cylinder haha, but I just did this on my redtop trans the other day. Just connected the sensors til they worked.

I only hooked up the reverse lights and and speed sensor because those were the only necessary for me.Don't quote me on it, but I think the green was the reverse lights on it. If not then it's the blue one

edit ^^didnt see you already found it

Back from the dead! This thread is almost 4 years old!

That sensor in question which is not circled is the Speed Sensor which links to the speedometer.
