Transmission rough/hard shifts

I didn't notice this during my test drive, but after purchasing the car I now notice transmission shifts rough. I notice it more often when driving between 0 to 50mph. I haven't driven any other m37s. Are any of you guys experiencing the same thing? Is the designed like this?
