I have a 2001 QX4 with approximately 240,000 miles on it and the transmission roars. Any ideas on what is causing this?

That can be alot of things... Have you tried a simple trans oil and filter change to see if it changes anything ?

What is the engine speed doing -- is the transmission slipping?

What's the fluid level - condition?


That's a lot of miles ... I have never had an automatic make it to 240k w/o a rebuild
