I'm replacing the clutch on my '90 sx. After downloading and following the great FAQ I've come to a sticking point. I've got what appears to be all of the bolts out between the transmission and the engine, but one.
This bolt is, from what I can tell, top dead center. It does not appear on the torquing picture in the manual, yet is there none the less. I can feel it with my hand reaching around from the left side of the engine. This is (clockwise maybe at 11:30) above the two bolts holding the starter on. My questions are, is this a connecting bolt between the transmission and engine, and if so, how did anyone else get to this to break it free and loosen it? Did you use an extension or breaker bar or both? From what side? Underneath?. I managed to get the bolt on the top right hand side (when standing in front of the engine) by reaching around from the right, and using a wrench and hammering on it a bit. All of my bolts are a little stuck and require a little effort to break free. Any hints and help?
The last question is, why the freak did they put a bolt there?
Any detailed responses would be GREATLY appreciated. BTW total time so far is 6 hours just to get the transmission off.
Thanks,Erich
