theres a rattle coming from the transmission on my 89 240. its not gear specific, and there is no trouble getting it in any gear. i can usually only hear it above 2500rpm. it runs fine but it doesnt sound good. it didnt start till about 3 weeks after the 5spd swap was done.

ALL NEW oem: clutch, pressure plate, pilot bushing, throwout bearing, all bolts, master/slave cylinder,USED: flywheel that i didnt get resurfaced, trans, driveshaft,

I had the same thing after my swap, now I blew something and my car is sitting 6 miles from my house. Could've been something i did though...

all of my parts were used though

Did you replace the throwout bearing? A lot of times that can cause some weird noises... try to notice if the rattle is constant or if pressing the clutch changes anything.. also just a shot...check any heat shields that could have been dinged or broken... I saw that a lot in the shop when clutches were done or trannys removed they are held up with chicken wire and a stick of gum ... certain rpm ranges can make em sing...

good luck and I dont know enough about trannys to help much more.
