As an answer to the first questions, I have used the search function on the forum.My questions are as follows;

Castro has come out with a ATF with Nissan listed as one of the manufactures covered. Any feedback on this fluid and its usage?

As to the size of the transmission cooler, are there any suggestions to what size to use?

I have just had a low mileage (70,000) transmission installed (car has 162,000). Planned stuff, flush, cooler install, drain plug installed in transmission pan, and screen replacement. Missed anything?

When installed, the shop used Valvoline ATF+4 fluid. Called shops around the area and common response was this exceeded the Nissan spec and actually was a very high grade fluid. I even called Valvoline and the engineer echoed the shops comments. The car has performed awesome and shifted nice and tight. Any thoughts?

Lastly, a recent post mentioned a cooler thermostat. In previous tuning sessions with other vehicles, this was one of the things that we did to help improve drivability. Supposedly this affected the ECU in a positive way and provided better parameters when driving. Also mentioned was a slight reduction in intake temperature within the engine. Any comments?

Jonsey….

The larger the cooler the better if you are not in the great white north.

Why I went to the 70264 over the 70268 most used previously. TX is hot in the summer.

Hey Max,

What car did you install that 264 in? Trying to figure out if a 264 is too wide to fit between my rad and evap.

Any Dextron II or better fluid is what my manual says for the 92 model. Yours is a 90, so there you have it. Valvoline makes the best fluids in the industry in my opionion, when talking outside of synthetics. Haven't used Valvoline synthetics yet, putting new Valvoline synthetic in my Q's engine next week. If you like saving money Valvoline also makes the NAPA and CarQuest branded fluids. Exact same stuff that you find in the white bottle, or red bottle for the ATF, but in NAPA or CarQuest bottles. UNBEATABLE pricing. 3.88 a quart for full synthetic.

We have used Valvoline bulk lubricants for 13 years: oil, ATF Dex IIIe/g, diff, coolants red and green.

Obviously very suitable for Infiniti and Lexus if you change then them frequently.

FGY33. Might be. Mine is installed under driver's side headlight. In Texas, I don't want additional thermal loading on radiator and condenser adn maximum ATF cooling.

Email me and I'll send pictures. There are some in the gallery under my board name.

Right now (4/10/2008) PimpBoys is running a special on M1 with filter and 5 qts. of M1 for $30.

Costco is selling 6 qt. packs of M1 for $8 off, a 25% reduction. I am stocking up!

It is the photo graveyard from the previous NICO board. Still useful, but not active.
