Transmission Question

Hi All. New to these cars. Just bought my wife a 2013 Q60 convertible with the 7AT. Is this a learning trans? In D it seems to want to push through the gears way too fast. ie. changes up too early and really bogs the engine down. This behaviour is exasperated when cold and is annoying as at low speeds every movement of the throttle has it hunting gears. In DS this problem does not exist but its shift strategy is too aggressive just for everyday driving. So in short DS seems perfect for intended use but D is way too lazy. If I fang it a bit in D will learn a more sensible shift behaviour? D needs to be a couple of steps closer to DS.
