Would a new transmission from a 92' 240 directly replace a messed up 91' transmission?

Any previously-auto car with accept any other auto 240 transmission, and any previously-manual 240 will accept any other manual 240 transmission. If you go manual to auto (which I don't think has ever been done..) or auto to manual, you need to switch driveshafts, as well as add a few things (for auto-to-manual).

moreover, will a 91 KA have any problems fitting a 92+ manual transmission? if not i will start looking for a 95+ transmission to replace my worn 91 transmission.

dont worry about computer issues, they wont happen. any year will work. PERIOD. But, you might want to get a newer one, for mileage and integrity's sake.
