transmission question

My son recently purchased a 96 I30 with l50,000 miles. Code 0745 has popped up.

Definition: Line pressure solenoid valve fault. Possible causes: l. open or short circuit. 2.blocked passage in transmission. or 3. failed line pressure solenoid valve.

He is currently driving it in this condition. Car is shifting okay, color of fluid is decent. Anyone have any idea how ill-advised for him to use the car like this?

i'd replace the fluid and filter, clear the code and see if it comes back.
