Ok so I did a bunch of looking around and came up with the answer that my Z is a 2004.5 based on the VIN number. The reasoning I received is because the 11th digit is an M. Dunno if this is true or not.

But anyways, didn't the 04.5 350z's have the transmission problem fixed?

The reason I ask is because my transmission grinds almost every time I put it into 5th gear. I have even messed with how far I push the clutch pedal down and nothing seems to make a difference(other than pushing the pedal all the way to the floor).

So I was wondering if this is the same transmission problems that were being had by the earlier models?

Also do you guys think that I should try to get the dealer to fix it? I am still under the 60k mile/ 60 month powertrain warranty.
