I've heard that the 300ZX transmission out of the twin turbos bolt on to the RB 26. Wondering if this was true or if some moron just made this up to sound like he knew what he was talking about.

not true. but You can bolt up the 300zx transmission using the RB26 bellhousing, however your shifter location will be a few inches further back.

almost, from what has been shown swapping bellhousings will result in the trans being the same place as it was normaly...least thats what ive gathered from reading all the swap threads.

My Z31 turbo trans sat the shifter further back. Actually its more comfortable for my lanky ***.

End result, you have to have that rb25/26 bellhousing at the very least.

Now is that the same for the 300z automatic. Or does it need an adapter plate. I looked around on this forum an found that the TT Z`s auto can take up to 550ish crank hp.......is that true?

iirc the r33 auto is the same as the z32 box...well least in design.as far as holding 550bhp i doubt it can do that, nissan auto boxes arnt really known for their tremendous strength.

so all i need is the bell housing? i def don't mind it sitting back a couple of inches as long as you don't need to cut anything. plus the 300z trans are much easier to find than the rb25s.
