Transmission question

Is it normal for me to be able to take my car out of gear while driving without pressing the clutch? I've only been driving standard for a couple months and the other day I was driving and I pulled down on the shift knob and it popped out of gear. If this is not normal what could be wrong. It does this in 1st,2nd,3rd,4th, I haven't tried it in fifth

yeah... same as an auto.

yes that is completely normal. It is especiallly easy if you do it while giving it a bit of gas, because it remove the pressure of engine braking on the gears. Just leave the shifter alone, unless you want to shift.
