transmission question

Ok heres the thing i finally found a 1992 240sx i might buy... of course it will need a lil work but i wanted one that did anyway so i could get it cheap and work on it. Anyway it's an automatic, how much do you think it would cost to get a manual transmission (my brother and i can install the transmission, i just was curious if anyone knew how much the manual trani would cost). Also is there anything special i should know about switching the car from auto to manual.

first off, welcome to NICO . a transmission swap would cost you about 4-500 getting everything from the junkyard, maybe even less. Also use the search option and FAQ to find out step by step direction on how to do the swap. and parts needed.

well i tried to use the faq but didnt really see what i was looking for there, didnt search though. Thanks for the welcoming, gotta go to work now... to make that money to buy the car and do the transmission swap Lol

Like AJ1356 said auto to manual swap should cost 400-500 max. I got all the stuff for my first swap for under 250. I have done a few auto to manual swap about to do another in a few weeks. Just search there is alot of info out there.

sucks to pay like 4-500 for a transmission swap cuz i just bought a whole ka for 300
