Transmission question help please!

I am currently doing a auto to manual swap and just realized the part in which the throwout bearing sits is broken, I think it's called a retainer... I was wondering if i replaced it, whether it had to come from the s13 transmission or could it come from any other car maybe not a 240sx??? I have a hard time finding a 5 spd transmission for a s13 in so cal junk yards... If anyone knows the answer please let me know thank you!
