i just went in to get an oil change and transmission flush and when the tech was under my car he noticed that the "speed sensor plug" i think thats what its called was broken and not staying on good. i guess it helps regulate the shifts not too sure. i have notice the car sometimes shifts a little weird. was wondering how common is this exactly what is this plug and if you have any idea about how much this would cost me. also how difficult would this be to replace. THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR THE HELP!!

It probably comes with a portion of its harness. Are you sure he did't mean turbine revolution sensor? That requires dropping the transmission.

You need to study the FSM

And you need to call Infiniti of Sottsdale once you confirm the diagnosis

If the tech is talking about an simple electrical connection then it should be pretty easy to rig up something to hold the connection together. There is a turbine revolution sensor that sometimes leaks fluid and is a b*tch to replace. Most drop the transmission but I remember someone saying that this wasn't necessary-maybe some kind soul will find and post the thread?

-Good luck

As Andy said, if it's simply a loose connector, pull it apart and thoroughly clean it. Apply dielectric schlock to the pins and reassemble. Then take a THIN tie wrap and use it to keep them "together". Carefully slide it between the wires on each side of the connector. If you can keep it centered you will have mo' betta' luck with it. Works, fast & easy. Don't axe me how I know this.

Or, buy brand new bits and tear into it.
