On my way home today I was in third gear and down shifted to second my car did not go into that gear and then after that the shifter would not move or go into any gear. Thanks
Also my shifter does not move or go into gear. It also makes a grinding sound when you release the clutch. Any ideas?

More info would be good. How does the engine react when this happens? RPMS drop? idle bounce? Do you have enough oil in your trans?

Sorry Man I was really pissed off when I wrote this lol. Little history on the transmission; Third and fourth gear always scratched when driving hard, when driving normal they never did. On deceleraion third and fourth always made this weird sound. No when I pressed the clutch and release now the engine does not seem to have any changes just that weird sound coming from the transmission is not very loud do.

Sounds like you broke something with the shift linkage, have you taken the shifter out yet?

Sounds like that shifter fork may have broke, seems like you'd need to see a transmission shop or just replace the transmission, usually a used 5MT can be found for under $100.

If its the shifter fork, you should be able to buy a new one and replace it (or have someone replace it), but I've never messed with that, not sure of the trouble/costs.
