i need to know whether or not i have to take the transmission off out or just unbolt it when putting a new ka in. and are there any special tools i need for it.please help.

its easier to pull the engine out WITH the transmission still attached. you just need 14mm and 12mm socket and wrench to pull the transmission off the engine.

why wouldnt it be easier to just unbolt the transmission from the block and just put the new engine in

this is the last thing i have to do before i take out the old engine and can finally get my new one in

its a 1993 240sx 5spd coupe and a 93 engine going back in it

any body have any suggestions, looks like i have to take the transmission out too cause its impossible to get to some of the bolts. is there anything special i should know/have to get the transmission out. anything special i have to do with the driveshaft or anything?

The easiest way to get the bell housing bolts to the engine out is to remove the trans mount and let the trans hang down. By then you might as well just pull the trans out with the engine and not fight getting the bolts out of the bell.

When you get ready to disconnect the drive shaft make sure you mark it at the diff flang and at the center support so everything lines up when going back together. If you dont you could suffer an imbalance in the shaft the would creat an annoying vibration when driving.

what exactly am i marking now, and once i unbolt the support do i need to have a jack under it while im pulling it out with the engine. and how hard is it going to be to get it and the engine to clear everything
