Hi,
I recently picked up an '03 G35 6mt coupe, and it is a blast to drive, but I'm experiencing some issues when shifting. When I first drive it in the morning it is difficult to shift into 1st and second, but after 10-15 miles it gets much easier. Sometimes I have to shift to neutral, release the clutch pedal, tap the throttle, then clutch and shift into gear. Usually it just takes a little more force than I think should be necessary, but this really scares me. It has also ground the gears when shifting into 2nd when I know the clutch pedal is fully depressed.

I normally do my own repairs, but this has me scared and I don't want to drive any more than necessary until it is fixed so I'm looking for recommendations for shops in the Milwaukee/Madison Wisconsin area.

Oh yeah, the car has 98,000 miles so I'm not all that surprised after seeing how many people on here are having transmission issues.

Thanks,
Geoff

Throw-out bearing...there was a service call on it. Also could be the syncro...my 05 had to have the transmission replaced because of this.

Man, I hope it isn't a syncro. Was that a TSB or a recall for the throw-out bearing?

I read on here that the '03 6-speed transmission was redesigned shortly after they were released. Do you know what was changed?
